Design Monday - Sanna Annukka

Illustrator  and print-maker  -Sanna Annukka-  has a love for nature and folklore.
The  forest, lakes and wildlife of northern Finland provide a constant source of
inspiration for her.
She was 'discovered' by the British band Keane in 2006 -
and when the London-based creative agency - Big Active - included her as one of
their represented artists -
 her career took flight.
Her work has been commissioned by Apple / iTunes, British Vogue, and Marimekko to name but a few.  She also is working on her own product line including her first -
 (of many, we hope)
 children's picture book.

Beaneasy - Good for kids, and the planet !

Beaneasy products are shaped like
- you guessed it - 'Beans'
This unique shape,
and the bright, beautiful colours
make these cribs and furniture pieces
a delightful addition to a baby's world !
But while gorgeous styling is important,

safety,
and environmentally responsible production
are more so.

Beaneasy couldn't agree more.
Their commitment to creating
safe products for our kids, and the planet -
is wonderful !

Design Monday - Photographer Mikkel Adsbol

Mikkel Adsbol always wanted to be a chef.
Then, at the grand old age of 15 (ninth grade) he discovered the world through a photographic lens,
and he abandoned his culinary dreams.
From his studio in Copenhagen, he shoots amazing photographs for
commercial clients and editorial media.
His areas of specialty are travel, food and people,  and lifestyle photography.
We are particularly fond of his take on the latter.

Klas Fahlen

Art.
Serious stuff.
Something to be admired - from a distance,
to be carefully curated,
and carefully cleaned

 to that we say
HOOEY !

Sometimes,
 art is intended
to inject levity into our lives.
To tickle our funny bones, so to speak.
These illustrations by
may just do the trick-
Enjoy !

Giving Thanks !

Today is the day - the OFFICIAL day of giving thanks.
I am thankful for so many things:
but mostly,
I am thankful for my husband and young daughter.
I wish sleep was more plentiful,
but in one of those wakeful moments, I stumbled upon
a beautiful way to give thanks -
for the blessings,
in our lives.
is a wonderful blog created by Joel Henriques.
Who is Joel Henriques you may ask ?
He is a talented artist
who uses his blog for posting some of his projects,
'usually a toy or craft for my kids.'
His latest creation is a Mobile of Thanks
Made from simple things -
twigs, thread -
and papers with words of heartfelt thanks.
Such a beautiful way for children, (and their adults!)
to create a Thanksgiving remembrance.

Happy Thanksgiving !

Talented People - Jennifer Squires Photography

For those of you who are seeking both
beauty, and serenity
on a daily basis,
we suggest an Rx of the following:
Jennifer Squires Ross (and her husband Darren)
run a ' flourishing photography business'
from their home in London, Ontario.

They specialize in minimalist landscape photography,
which has caught the eye
of several magazines and media outlets throughout
North America.
Photo Life magazine hailed her as
'one of 2009's Emerging Photographers'.

We believe the accolades and press are
much deserved -
we also believe that she is a genuinely 'nice person',
and we are honoured to feature

Jennifer Squires
as our first talented person in the
Entrepreneurial  Spotlight.
